Research experience:
Epstein-Barr virus latency in kidneys allografts; Poliomavirus in urine cytology and kidney allograft biopsies; PCR for BK and JC virus; tissue microarrays; donor biopsies; glomerular size measurement by histomorphometric analysis; morphological classification of renal carcinomas; immunohistochemistry in epithelial renal neoplasms; utilized SPSS© statistical program extensively.

Current research interest:
My researches have focused on cyclosporine chronic renal toxicity; morphologic expresion of humoral graft rejection; search for causes of chronic/sclerosing allograft nephropathy; focal segmental glomerulosclerosis in hispanic patientes; glomerulonephritis in native kidneys in Colombia, and allograft kidney pathology in an underdeveloped country (Colombia): Are there differences in infection frequency, graft loss, or recurrent disease?
